Riley Kern is a Portrait photographer located in Orange County and Los Angeles. Her work has most recently been featured on the covers and interiors of both LA and OC Weekly magazines. Among many others she has also been featured in Slake, Deadbeat, Pistol, Evolved and has had covers and features for Tattoo Society and MMA Business. The city of Lancaster recently commissioned her to shoot their 12-month Pin-Up calendar entitled "Support Our Troops". She has also shot the cover of the 2012 “Pin-Up’s for Pit Bulls” calendar. The British television station, Sky, hired her to shoot stills for their show, “A Year to Save my Life” and she has also photographed images for an upcoming book about the Artist, Shag. Currently, she is working on a couple of personal projects. The first one features her neighborhood, the people in it, and her relationship with it, as an outsider who grew up elsewhere (born in Bakersfield, has lived in OC for 10 years). And she has an on-going project about the MMA fighters that she has grown to love, admire and respect as a result of being a “hobbyist” in the art of Muay Thai for over 10 years. Riley has a BFA in photography and imaging from The Art Center College of Design (Pasadena, Ca.) Prior to that she attended The Orange Coast College School of Photography for 2 years. Taking classes in Fashion, portraiture, commercial photography and professional digital, film, and color photography. Riley loves to share her knowledge and has taught workshops for Canon Camera, LADiG, and Belmont High School of the Arts. She is currently looking forward to teaching more workshops for Canon and working on editorial projects.
